Aston, PA – The Highlanders traveled to Neumann University on Wednesday evening where they lost to the Knights by a score of 77-34. Cairn dropped to 5-15 overall and 4-8 in the conference with the loss, while Neumann improved to 10-10 overall and 8-3 in the CSAC.
Payton Emerick led the Highlanders in both scoring and rebounding, picking up 14 points and nine rebounds. Emerick was 5-11 from the floor and 4-8 from the free throw line. Emerick,

Aigner Bookard each played all 40 minutes for the Highlanders; Bookard finished with 10 points, while Eppolito had nine.
JoHanna Metzger led the Knights in the game with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Lauren Legler also scored 16 points for Neumann, while AAliya Hayes put up 15 points. As a team, Neumann shot 47% from the floor and 84.6% from the free throw line, while grabbing 57 rebounds.
By the end of the first quarter, Neumann had already built a 30-7 lead over Cairn. The Knights continued to pour on the pressure in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 53-13 advantage. The Highlanders scored 21 points in the second half to Neumann's 24 for the final score of 77-34.
The Highlanders will next travel to Cabrini College this Saturday, Feb. 6, to take on the Cavaliers.
