Allentown, PA - The Cairn women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2016 season with a 3-2 (19-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-13) loss at Cedar Crest.

Whitney Seidel led the Highlanders with 15 and 11 kills respectively.
The Highlanders won the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-21 and took control of the match but the Falcons came back and won a closely contested third set 25-23. After taking the third set, Cedar Crest used the momentum to take the fourth set 25-20 and set up a decisive fifth set.
The fifth set was a back-and-forth battle. The Highlanders held leads of 3-2, 6-5, 7-6, 10-8 and 12-11 but could not hold on as the Falcons won four of the final five points to claim a 15-13 lead. Neither team led by more than two points throughout the entire set.
Cairn was strong on the attacking front in the first two sets, collecting 12 and 13 kills in sets one and two respectively. After struggling in the third and fourth sets the Highlanders stepped it back up in the final game swinging at a .222 clip with nine kills. It was not enough as the Highlanders dropped with final match of the season.
With the loss Cairn ends the season with a 4-18 overall record and a 2-9 mark in the CSAC.
