Lancaster, PA – The Lancaster Bible College Chargers swept the Cairn women's volleyball team 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-20) on Tuesday evening.
The Highlanders struggled to get their offense going throughout the night, collecting just 16 kills in the three sets.
Whitney Seidel led Cairn with four kills in the match. Four other Highlanders collected multiple kills in the match with
Brie Norton and
Olivia Smiley each collecting three.
Liz White assisted on 13 of Cairn's 16 kills, while also collecting two digs and a kill in the match.
The Chargers improved to 14-16 on the season with the victory. Lancaster Bible was led by a balanced attack in the match, five different Chargers collected at least five kills. Mandy Metzler accumulated 26 assists on the 33 total kills for the Chargers.
The loss drops the Highlanders to 4-15 on the season. Cairn is currently on a four-match skid since they won three out of four matches from Oct. 1- 12.
The Highlanders will next take the floor on Wednesday night when they travel to Bryn Athyn to take on the Lions for the third, and final, time this season. Bryn Athyn is 2-0 against the Highlanders this season including a 3-1 victory over Cairn in a neutral site match over the weekend.
