Langhorne, PA – Cairn women's basketball lost their second game of the season to Rosemont College on Friday evening, 63-44. The Highlanders previously lost to the Ravens in Rosemont, Pa., by a score of 84-47.
Rosemont's second quarter burst of 27 points lifted the Ravens ahead and the Highlanders could not recover. Cairn put up just six points in the second quarter despite outscoring Rosemont in the first and fourth quarters.
Carly Hislop led Rosemont in the game with 16 points, while Brianna Macauley followed with 14 points. Leilani Naone-Carter led the Ravens in rebounding with 16 in the game.
Kendra Stum and
Aigner Bookard led the Highlanders in scoring with 12 points each.
Kristen Castner and
Amie Eppolito each collected seven points.
Payton Emerick pulled down nine rebounds.
The Highlanders struggled to shoot the ball with a high percentage in the game. The team was 0-6 from three-point range and 18-63 overall from the field. Today's game was the first of the season where Cairn did not make at least one three-pointer.
With the loss, Cairn dropped to 3-13 overall and 3-6 in the conference. Rosemont improved to 8-9 overall and 4-4 in the conference with the win. The Highlanders will next travel to Bryn Mawr College on Monday, Jan. 25.
