West Palm Beach, FL – Cairn University suffered their second loss in as many games while on their holiday trip to Florida with an 89-30 result against Emmanuel College. The Highlanders dropped to 1-7 overall this season, while the Saints improved to 8-4 overall with the win.
Aigner Bookard led the team in scoring for the second time this season with 11 points; she also led the team in rebounding with eight total.
Amie Eppolito finished with eight points in the game, followed by
Payton Emerick with five. Emerick tied Bookard in rebounding with eight as well.
The Saints proved just too much for the Highlanders in this game but did not have any standout performers. The team's minutes were spread across 16 different players resulting in no players getting more than 19 minutes of court time. The points for Emmanuel were spread in a similar way—with no student-athlete collecting more than 11 points.
For the season, Eppolito continues to lead the team in scoring average with 17.5 points per game, while Emerick has led the team in rebounding with 8.1 rebounds per game.
The Highlanders will follow up their holiday trip down south with a string of four away games starting with Centenary College on Jan. 5.
