Philadelphia, PA – The Cairn University Highlanders lost their second match of the season today with a 3-0 defeat to the Philadelphia University Rams. The Highlanders dropped three sets with scores of 25-6, 25-6, and 25-4 with three total kills and five digs.
The Division II Rams proved to be too much for the Highlanders on Saturday afternoon as they scored 30 of their points by way of service aces. Philadelphia University had 22 total kills in the match with a .485 attacking percentage.
The Highlanders' kills came from
Haley Sheehan (2) and
Sara Walker (1). Lauren Laucella and Courtney Wensel led the Rams with five kills each.
Whitney Seidel collected one block in the match and Sheehan led in digs with three.
With the loss, Cairn dropped to 0-2 on the year, while Philadelphia won their first match of the season to start 1-0. The Highlanders will return to action this Tuesday, Sept. 8, when they host the University of Valley Forge at 7:00 p.m.
