Radnor, PA – The Cairn women's volleyball team traveled to Cabrini College on Tuesday evening where they lost a three-set match to the Cavaliers to open up CSAC play for 2015. The defending CSAC champions proved to be too much for the Highlanders as the Cavaliers won with scores of 25-5, 25-6, and 25-9.
Haley Sheehan had three kills in the match for Cairn, while
Abigail Litman had one.
Katelynn Reiss led the team in digs with eight,
Breanna Blair followed with three.
Cabrini hit for a total .390 percentage in the match and had 33 kills. The Cavaliers also put away 16 aces and had three blocks. The Cavaliers were led by Chelsea Jones and Ann-Marie Jones with six kills each. Cabrini held the advantage in overall digs 33-15 over the Highlanders.
With the loss, Cairn dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Cabrini improved to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the CSAC with the win. The Highlanders will return to the courts this Friday when they travel to Keystone College to take on the Giants at 7 p.m.
