Bryn Athyn, PA – Cairn University women's volleyball dropped their first match of the 2015 season to Bryn Athyn College by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday evening.
Whitney Seidel led the team in attacking with five kills on six total attempts; she also finished with one ace.
The Highlanders fought hard in their first set on the courts and scored 18 points. However, Cairn could manage just a combined 20 in the remaining two sets in the three-set loss.
Katelynn Reiss assisted on six kills and
Breanna Blair had four digs in the match.
Bryn Athyn was led by Taylor Davis who finished with 10 kills and zero errors. Abi Anderson led the way on assists for the Lions with 21, while Catherine Kirk had four digs in the match.
The Lions jumped ahead of the Highlanders by serving well and putting away 13 total aces. Errors also plagues the Highlanders as they finished with nine attacking errors as well as nine ball handling errors. Bryn Athyn finished with a total attacking percentage of .375 to Cairn's -.043.
The Highlanders are forced to take the loss and start the new season 0-1 but will look to rebound when they face off against Philadelphia University this Saturday, Sept. 5, at 12 p.m.
