Langhorne, PA - Cairn University women's basketball hosted the Ravens of Rosemont College on Monday evening for the team's final home game of the season. Rosemont controlled the game from start to finish and won the game 93-29.
Cairn started the game on top however, with a basket by
Regina Younger and then a three-pointer by
Amie Eppolito to go up 5-2. The Ravens responded with a three of their own by Dominique Sellers and it marked the last lead that Cairn saw in the game. Eppolito led the team with seven points; Younger finished with five points.
Rosemont went up by four shortly thereafter but
Rikki Shingledecker cut the lead back to two after she was found down low for the easy bucket. Shingledecker recorded her best performance of the season tonight on 3-8 shooting for six points.
Amy Faust led the team in rebounding along with Eppolito with nine boards in the game each. Faust finished with five points and two steals.
The Ravens shot a team field goal percentage of 46% and had four players with at least 15 points. Sellers led the team with 20 on 8-11 from the floor and 4-6 from three point range. Leilani Naone-Carter was right behind her with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
At the half, Rosemont built a 54-16 lead that the Highlanders could not recover from. With the loss, Cairn dropped to 2-19 overall and 0-15 in the conference. Rosemont improved to 12-12 overall and 8-7 in the CSAC with the win.
Cairn will finish out their season on Wednesday, Feb. 18, when they travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for a game at 6 p.m.
