Jeremiah Harris with 10. Doughty also led the team in rebounding with six total.
Neumann had four players score 15 points or more in the game; they were led by DeShawn Lowman with 22. James Butler put up 21 points and led the team in rebounds with 13. Lowman also grabbed a double-double with his 10 rebounds.
The first half of the game was very closely contested, as the Highlanders went into the locker room at the half with a one-point deficit. Throughout the first 20 minutes, Cairn hit 7-10 from three-point range and 15-30 from the floor.
Unfortunately, Cairn was unable to get a lot of points in the paint, which carried over into the second half. The Highlanders were outscored in that category 48-24 by the Knights. Cairn also went just 1-8 from three-point range in the second half, scoring 28 points over the second 20 minutes of the game.
Cairn held the lead in the second half 55-52 at the 16:39 mark but the Knights went on a 7-0 run from there to re-take the lead for the last time in the game. Small mistakes by the Highlanders down the stretch prevented Cairn from coming back in the game.
With the loss, Cairn dropped to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the CSAC. The Highlanders will next host Lancaster Bible College on Friday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m.
