Langhorne, PA – The Highlanders lost their second match of the season to Bryn Athyn College on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 result against the Lions. Cairn opened the 2015 season with a 3-0 loss to Bryn Athyn on Sep. 1.
Cairn held with Bryn Athyn in the first and third sets but ultimately lost with scores of 25-17, 25-8, and 25-19.
Bryn Athyn held the advantage on kills, 34-10, and had 18 aces in the match. Alexa Kennedy led the Lions with 14 kills overall, while Jenii Bauer finished with six aces.
Haley Sheehan (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown Community H.S.) led the team with four kills, 10 digs, and one ace.
Abigail Litman (Lebanon, PA/New Covenant Christian School) finished with three kills, followed by
Whitney Seidel (Harleysville, PA/Upper Bucks Christian) with two kills. Seidel also had seven digs for the Highlanders.
With the loss, Cairn fell to 0-17 this season, while Bryn Athyn improved to 10-9 overall. The Highlanders will next travel to Marywood University on Saturday, Oct. 17, for a 1 p.m. match.
