Langhorne, PA: In a tale of two halves on Saturday the Cairn University Women's Soccer team suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to Bryn Mawr College 3-2.

Bryn Mawr held a 15-3 shots on goal advantage for the game but the Highlanders heart and effort almost pulled out the victory.

The Owls took a 2-0 lead heading into the halftime break on goals by Marcela Dorfsman-Hopkins and Alice Bell. Cairn had a great opportunity to score the game's first goal of the game but an unlucky bounce caused the ball to hit the post just under twelve minutes in.

Courtney Novak (Mount Laurel, NJ / The King's Christian School) put the Highlanders on the board with her fifth goal of the season in the 58^th minute assisted by Laurisa Wager (Victor, NY / Homeschool).  Wager would tie the contest with her chip shot from thirty five yards out that just beat the outstretched arms of the Bryn Mawr goalkeeper with just under six minutes remaining in the second half.

However Nina Bertolami would give the Owls the golden goal when she found the back of the net just over four minutes into the first overtime.

Mackenzie Paugh (Galloway, NJ / Absegami) recorded a career high 12 saves in goal for the Highlanders.

Cairn returns back to action next Saturday to open up Colonial States Athletic Conference on the road at Centenary (NJ).
