Box Score 2 Langhorne, PA- The Highlanders were able to come away with 2 wins in their home opener against Rosemont College this Saturday afternoon.

In game one of the double header, the Highlanders were able to pull off a convincing 11-1 victory over the Ravens, ending the game by the 5th inning. Due to some solid pitching by
Tiffany Gower, the Highlanders allowed just six hits in the game. Thanks to some wild Rosemont pitching and errors, the Highlanders were able to score 3 runs with just 2 hits in the first inning, and 6 runs on 5 hits in the 2nd. The Highlanders had 9 total hits for the game.
Jocelyn Good went 2-4 scoring 3 runs and
Brigid Shehan went 2-3 scoring 2 runs and earning 3 RBI's.
Tiffany Gower pitched the 5 inning game, earning her 3rd win for the season. She saw 20 batters, allowing only one run and earning 6 strikeouts.
Game 2 proved to be another pitching matchup, but the Highlanders were still able to come away with the 3-0 win. 2 errors and a wild pitch in the first inning helped earn Cairn the first three runs, along with an RBI double by
Kristen Hubler to close out the first. Rosemont posed a threat in the 4th inning, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, but the Highlanders were able to close out the inning without any runs being scored. The Ravens left a total of 10 runners on base for the game.
Cynthia Page pitched a complete game shutout, the first of her career, seeing 31 batters, striking out 5.
Carly Moniz went 2-3, hitting a double.
Kristen Hubler went 1-2 with an RBI double.
Cairn softball is now 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the CSAC
Next week, the Highlanders will host Penn St. - Brandywine for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00pm on Tuesday afternoon. Cairn will then play against CSAC rivals Cabrini College and Neumann University in doubleheader action on Friday March 28th and Saturday March 29th.
