Highlanders Unable to Handle Knights

Box Score Aston, PA- In an off day for the Cairn University Highlanders they fell to the Neumann University Knights by a score of 84-54.

Box Score

The Highlanders travelled to Neumann University and simply could not find their groove against the CSAC's third ranked team.  The Highlanders trailed 6-0 to start the game and would never be able to gain a lead against the Knights and their star forward Mark Blount.  Blount showed off his all around game today as the forward tallied 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists.  The Highlanders managed well with the Knights and their press in the first half; and even though they trailed, four straight points from guard Darnell Clowney took the Highlanders into the half on a high note with the score sitting at 47-35.  The HIghlanders would show signs of life to start the second half, but Neumann's high flying offense proved too much for Cairn to handle.

The bright spots for Cairn in this contest were freshman Azariah Parmer who led Cairn with 13 points and 5 rebounds in only 27 minutes, and Clowney who managed 10 points on the night.  Parmer's play is encouraging for the Highlanders as they will be looking for the freshman to take on a more increased role for the team next year.

Cairn will host rival Baptist Bible College Wednesday night at 8:00 PM and seek another conference victory.
