Highlanders Drop a Pair in Holiday Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Highlanders faced some stiff competition over the Holidays as they traveled to Lexington, Virginia, to compete in Washington & Lee University Holiday Tournament.

In the opening round, Cairn took on the host team, Washington & Lee University. The Highlanders were able to hang around early, but saw the home team pull away for a 87-48 victory. The Highlanders were paced by Obed Rivera's 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Reuben Lacy chipped in w/ 9 points and 7 rebounds, while JD Zamroz also had 9 points, respectively. On the other side of the bracket, national powerhouse #5 Williams College defeated Washington College 84-76.

Cairn would take on Washington College in the consolation game. The Highlanders would fall in a close, hard fought contest by a score of 75-64. The Highlanders were led by Reuben Lacy's 1st double-double of the season, 20 points and 12 rebounds. Kyle Bonner and JD Zamroz also posted double figures in scoring, w/ 13 and 12 points.

The Championship game saw #5 Williams College defeat Washington & Lee University, 60-58. Reuben Lacy was named to the all-tournament team for stellar play.

The Highlanders will return to action on Saturday, January 4th, when they take on Oberlin College at 2:00pm at home.
