It was a defensive struggle all game, as both teams combined for only 10 shots all game, with each team registering five.
The Wolverines held the shot advantage 3-1 in the first half, as the teams entered the break 0-0.
It was the Highlanders that came out with more conviction in the second stanza, applying pressure from the 46th minute on. While it remained difficult to create shots and scoring chances, the boys in Crimson finally found the breakthrough in the 67th minute.Â

Ben Cardillo. From his right of the net position, Nolan blasted his shot to the far post for the eventual game-winner.
It was Nolan's second goal of the season, doubling his career-total heading into the 2013 season.
Wesley tried to rally in the end, but could only muster two second half shots, as the Highlanders outshot the Wolverines 4-2 over the final 45 minutes.
It was the third win in a row for Cairn, all of them shutouts.
The win lifts Cairn to 5-3 on the season, just in time for conference play this weekend when they host CSAC rivals Rosemont College. The Highlanders are 2-1-1 all-time against the Ravens but suffered a 4-0 defeat last season.
