Cairn controlled the early stages of the game, holding a 6-0 advantage in shots in the opening 30 minutes, but had to wait until the 44th minute to score the games first goal. Sophomore Craig Kikendall found Jeremy McAlack with a clever pass just outside the penalty area and after a great first touch from the streaking defender, McAlack found himself bearing down on goal and slotted the ball past Lancaster's Stefan Smith with his second touch.

The Highlanders took a 1-0 lead into the half, outshooting the Chargers 10-2 in the opening stanza.

Cairn had some defending to do right out of the break though, as Lancaster doubled their shot total after just five minutes into the second half.

However, it was the Highlanders who struck again as they went up 2-0 in the 53rd minute with their first shot of the half. McAlack was once again involved, as the defender sent a well played ball in behind the defense to send in Justin Nolan one-on-one with the LBC goalkeeper. Nolan calmly chipped the ball past the onrushing keeper.

Up two goals to nil, the Highlanders defended resolutely for the remaining 37 minutes, recording their second shutout of the season.

The Chargers came closest to spoiling the shutout effort in the 59th minute when Josiah Groff forced Dave Shaffer into a nice save, pushing Groff's free-kick over the crossbar. Shaffer registered eight saves in the win.

Cairn outshot Lancaster Bible 16-9 over the 90 minutes.

The win pushes Cairn to an even 3-3 on the year. LBC falls to 1-4-1.

This Saturday, the Highlanders will host Shenandoah University in their home-opener. Cairn and Shenandoah tied 1-1 last season in Winchester, VA.
