On Friday afternoon, the Highlanders put to rest an 11-year, 11-game skid against Bryn Mawr. Since 2002, the Highlanders have been outscored 33-6 by the Owls and although there have been a few close calls, the Owls have dominated the all-time series. However, when senior Kathleen Meacham rounded Bryn Mawr's keeper on a breakaway in the 101st minute and slotted the ball into the back of the net, all of that changed.

Cairn was without a key player and short on personnel but came out with a game plan that gave themselves a chance of pulling off the unthinkable. The Highlanders were outshot 25-7 over the 101 minutes, but finished where it mattered.

Naomi Collipp came up huge in net for Cair, as the senior goalkeeper recorded nine saves as the Owls peppered the Highlanders goal for a majority of the game.

The win improves the Highlanders to 2-3 on the season.

The ladies will have a couple of days to soak up the victory before they start their conference schedule with a game against Keystone College in La Plume, PA on Tuesday, September 17. Last year, Cairn topped the Giants 2-1 with the game-winner coming from Sara Poole in the 53rd minute with a 45-yard rip.
