Aston, PA - In a Colonial States Athletic Conference battle, Cairn University's softball team fell in doubleheader action to Neumann University.

Jessica Good finished 2 for 3, inlcuding a double, in the first game to lead the Highlanders attack, scoring both of Cairn's two runs, but Neumann was too strong offensively. The Knights rocked 21 hits on their way to a 19-2 score.

It was only a 3-2 deficit for the Highlanders after two and a half innings, before Neumann rattled off 14 run to put the result out of question.

In the nightcap, Neumann's Allyson Parris pitched a beauty of a game, allowing only one hit. The Knights scored all of their runs in the first three innings on their way to a 14-0 shutout of Cairn to take the season series.

Brigid Shehan earned Cairn's solo hit of the game with a double in the top of the first.

With the losses, Cairn is now 1-18 and 1-11 in conference play.

Next up is a doubleheader with non-conference Trinity University of DC.
