Surprisingly, the only consistent performer on the day came from an unexpected source, first-year player Katelynn Wilson. She finished the day going 2 for 4, with a hit in each game, and the only Cairn player to have more than one hit. Wilson's two hits double her career total.

In fact, only Jessica Good and Kelly Hendrickson would record the only other two hits for the Highlanders on the day.

While the Cairn bats were ineffective in game one, their defense kept the game relatively close. Eastern were shutout in the opening inning and only had a 3-0 lead after three innings. Four hits led to three more runs in the bottom of the fourth before the Eagles eventually closed out the first game 8-0.

The Eagles made a statement in the second game, starting things off with five runs in the first inning. That was followed by another four runs in both the second and third innings, surpassing their run total from the first game in just two innings.

Another Eastern run in the fourth sealed the 14-0 win and sweep of the Highlanders.

Cairn will look to rebound in their final conference doubleheader of the season against Rosemont College this upcoming Friday, April 26.
