La Plume, PA - The Keystone Giants came from behind in the bottom of the fifth inning in game one and shutout the Highlanders in the second game of a doubleheader to sweep the season series.
In the opening game, Cairn University came from behind midway through the game before taking the lead late on. After giving up two runs in the top of the first,
Brigid Shehan's two-run single in the top of the third, tied the game up at 2-2.
It was almost de'ja vu in the top of the fifth inning, with Shehan once again at the plate. The sophomore slugger hit her second two-run single of the game, giving the Highlanders a 4-2 lead.
Unfortunately for Cairn, the host responded immediately with five runs in the bottom of the inning, leading the way to a 7-4 victory for Keystone.
Shehan finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs.
In the day's second game, Keystone's Sara Schraden pitched a one-hitter in five innings of work, earning a shutout for the Giants.
Keystone won the second game 8-0.
Kelly Hendrickson's single in the first inning was the only hit for Cairn, taking away Keystone's no-hitter.
This Sunday, Cairn will host Centenary College in a make-up date previously rained out.
