Langhorne, PA - Cairn University dropped both games of a doubleheader with Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Immaculata University, 8-0 and 18-1.

Kelly Hendrickson's and Jessica Piccolo's hit in the fourth and fifth inning broke up a potential no-hitter for Immaculata's Meagan Fitzgerald, in a 8-0 loss to the Mighty Macs.

After shutting out Immaculata in the first inning, the Highlanders allowed four runs in the second and three more in the third before the Mighty Macs tacked on one more run in the fourth inning.

Brittany Merkle was perfect at the plate, going 3 for 3, for Immaculata.

In game two, the Mighty Macs offense really clicked into gear as Immaculata scored at least two runs in each inning, starting off with five runs in the opening inning and adding six more in the second, stretching the lead to 11-0.

By the time Cairn connected on three straight singles in the bottom of the fourth, putting up their lone run of the afternoon, Immaculata had already built-up a 16-0. The score eventually finished 18-1.

Brigid Shehan went 2 for 2, while Kristen Hubler went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Hendrickson finished 1 for 3 and one run.

The pair of losses puts Cairn at 3-20, 1-13 CSAC.

The Highlanders have a doubleheader with non-conference Valley Forge Christian College on Tuesday, with a potential make-up date with Centenary College possibly being played on Monday.
