Box Score Langhorne, PA - Cairn University's men's soccer team slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday afternoon, as the Highlanders struggled to find any kind of rhythm.

Unlike during their five-game winning streak, the Highlanders came out slow and lacked cohesion for the second straight game. Despite their first half performance, Cairn were only two seconds away from getting into halftime with a 0-0 scoreline when a momentarily lack of concentration allowed the Griffins to sneak a goal in just before the whistle.

The Highlanders managed to outshoot the visiting Griffins 5-4 in the second half but struggled to really test Gwynedd Mercy's goalkeeper.

Gwynedd Mercy added an insurance goal with just over seven minutes to play as Cairn piled men forward in search of an equaliser. The Highlanders slump to their second straight CSAC loss.

Looking to rebound, the Highlanders head up to Scranton, PA this Saturday to square off with Marywood University. The match is set for 4pm.
