Scranton, PA - The men's basketball team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest to Marywood University on Saturday.

Marywood raced out to a 9-2 lead but the Highlanders woke up kept things close for a majority of the half. Cairn's
Aaron Stovall drained a 3-pointer with 4:57 left in the half, pulling Cairn to within 6 points at 29-23. However, at that point the Pacers closed out the half on a 12-0 run, taking a huge swing of momentum into the break, 41-23.
The second stanza began with Marywood maintaining a roughly 20 point lead until Cairn made a quick 7 point run, cutting the deficit to only 14, 54-40. Unfortunately, things were right back where they started when the Pacers went on a 6-0 swing of their own immediately afterwards.
The closest the Highlanders would get was at 74-62 with 3:27 remaining. Despite only making 56% of their free-throws, the Pacers made enough of them down the stretch to hold on for a 84-70 win.
The defeat drops Cairn to 0-13 in conference play.
Reuben Lacy continues to have a breakout season for Cairn, notching a career-high 21 points and 16 rebounds. Senior guard
Charles Hopkins had a fine shooting night, going 6-for-11 including 2-for-4 3-pointers, finishing with 18 points of his own.
Aaron Stovall recorded 14 points.
Kendall Harris had a game-high 25 points for the Pacers. Shane Kellahar also breached the 20-point mark, finishing with 21 points.
On Wednesday night, the Highlanders will host Penn St.-Berks at 8pm.
