Hackettstown, NJ - The Crimson Eagles failed to trouble league leaders Centenary College on Friday as they dropped a pair of 0-8, 0-15 decisions to the Cyclones.

Box Score | Game 2
Centenary College came into the game tied for first place in the conference with Marywood University. Both 11-1 in conference play, but the Cyclones boasted the best overall record at 15-9. PBU quickly found out why.
Philadelphia Biblical University registered only 2 hits on the day, one in each game. The Cyclones pitching tandem of Roxanne Keelan and Meagan Madsen controlled things from the opening pitch, facing only 16 batters each on the day. Neither walked a single Crimson Eagle, while both gave up that single hit. Keelan struck out 7 batters while Madsen got 3 strikeouts.
Brigid Shehan (Media, PA / Penncrest) spoiled the perfect game for Keelan with her hit in the top of the 4th in game 1.
Emily Cronin (Franklinville, NY / New Life Christian) started the top of the second inning off with a base hit in game 2 that would prove to be the only hit given up by Madsen.
The Cyclones scored 8 runs in the first two innings to kick-off the doubleheader but they would be the only runs scored in the first game. After that,
Kelly Hendrickson (Southampton, PA / William Tennet) and the Crimson Eagle defense strengthened their resolve not to let this game get out of hand and the Crimson Eagles shutout the Cyclones the rest of the way. Game one finished 8-0.
Hendrickson pitched both outings for the Crimson Eagles and despite the 8-0 score line in game one, Hendrickson only gave up two earned runs and 8 hits, while registering one strikeout.
Whether it was Hendrickson's arm fatiguing, the Cyclone batters getting a better read on her pitches, or a combination of both, Centenary knocked 17 hits in the game two, scored 15 runs(8 earned), and shutout the Crimson Eagles to make it a doubleheader sweep.
PBU returns to action on Saturday with a doubleheader against Immaculata.
