Langhorne, PA - The Crimson Eagles faced off against the Defenders of Baptist Bible College in a doubleheader on Tuesday, and if not for an explosive 2 innings in game one, both games would've been pretty close.

In game one, Philadelphia Biblical University hung with Baptist Bible College, currently sitting in 3rd place in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, for the first 5 innings. It all went wrong in the top of the 6th though.
The two sides traded runs throughout the first part of the game with BBC jumping out to a 1st inning 2-0 lead. PBU responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd. The Defenders added on a run apiece in both the 3rd and 4th innings before the two teams cancelled each other out in the 5th inning, both scoring two runs each. At that point, Baptist held a slim 6-4 lead. Things fell apart at that point as the Defenders ran off four runs in both the 6th and 7th innings to make what was otherwise a close game look like a blowout. In the end, it went from 6-4 to 14-4 to end game one.
The second game rolled around as the sun began to drop below the horizon and a chill fell on Langhorne, PA. Not a good time to be caught without sleeves as this scorekeeper found out.
Game two was very similar to the first game of the day, with one glaring exception. No monster runs for the Defenders. PBU would come up on the short end of a 9-5 score line, but they proved they could keep things close and be competitive against one of the better teams in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
The pair of losses drops PBU to 5-19 overall and 2-10 within conference play. The Crimson Eagles are in 10th place ahead of Notre Dame of Maryland and Gwynedd-Mercy College. Baptist Bible has a firm grip on 3rd place with a CSAC record of 8-2.
Both
