Langhorne, PA - The Crimson Eagles had a tough time of it with the Garnet of Swarthmore.
Swarthmore used a career-best performance from their pitcher, Melissa O' Connor, to muscle out a 9-0 win in game 1 of the double-header. O' Connor finished with 13 strikeouts.
Although the Crimson Eagles got on the board in the second game, it was an offensive explosion from Swarthmore in the opening inning that was the talking point. The Garnet notched 13 runs in the opening stanza in what proved to be more than enough offense to get the job done. The remaining four innings were much closer, 4-3 in Swarthmore's favor, but in the end the scoreline read 17-3.
Cedar Crest College comes to town this Friday for a double-header with the Crimson Eagles. Game 1 starts at 3pm.
Cedar Crest swept last season series, but in very close back-to-back games (3-5, 2-10).
