Falcons Nips Highlanders

Allentown, PA - The women's soccer team squared off against conference opponent Cedar Crest College, but fell in a tough 1-0 score line.

Cedar Crest's Courtney Long scored the solo goal of the game just after halftime, in the 47th minute. The Falcons outshot Cairn 18-12 on the day, although both teams recorded 9 shots each in the second half.

Cairn's Kathleen Meacham launched 7 shots of her own but was unable to find the back of the net, while Morgan Swan continues to hold down her spot in net for the Highlanders, logging 9 saves on the day.

Cairn slips to 2-4 in conference play and 2-9 overall. They will play Valley Forge Christian College next on Monday, October 8th in Phoenixville, PA. Kick-off is set for 3:30pm. Last season's fixture between these two schools was played in a torrential downpour, but Cairn won the game 4-0, with Kathleen Meecham scoring all four goals.
