Baltimore, MD - Cairn University's women's soccer team only won one conference fixture last season. On Saturday, the Hgihlanders won their third of 2012.
Travelling down to Baltimore, MD to take on Notre Dame (MD), Cairn came away with a solid 1-0 win.
In the 16th minute of play, forward
Amara Mills one-timed her shot past Notre Dame's Lindsey Stanbery scoring the only goal of the game. The goal was scored off of a
Laurisa Wager free-kick, earning her another assist on the season.
Morgan Swan made 10 saves on the day, preserving the win and earning the clean sheet for the Highlanders.
The win moves Cairn to 4-10 on the season, and 3-4 within conference play. Last season, the Highlanders finished with a CSAC record of 1-10, illustrating vast improvement already in the women's soccer program with four games still to play this season.
Gwynedd-Mercy College awaits Cairn on Tuesday, with kick-off scheduled for 7pm.
