Box Score
Aston, PA - PBU's
Charles Kennedy (Philadelphia, PA / Roxborough) has been seeing a lot more playing time these past couple of games and he is making the most of it, scoring 21 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Knights of Neumann University.
Neumann took the contest 79-55 and had 12 different players register points. Mike Walukiewicz led the Knights with 17 points.
Neumann had jumped out to a 15-2 lead and the Crimson Eagles spent the rest of the half chipping away at it, cutting it down to 4 points at one point. The Crimson Eagles were only down by 7 points going into the half, 28-35, but couldn't find a way to stop the Knights offense which shot 52% from the floor for the game. In contrast, the Crimson Eagles only shot 34% and even worse 15% from beyond the three-point line. The usually dependable
Adam Derus (Lancaster, PA / Manheim Township) went an uncharacteristic 1-8 from beyond the arc and finished with only 3 points.
The second half started off the same way as the first half, with a monster run from the Knights out of the blocks, 24-5 in the first 7 minutes, giving Neumann a 26 point lead early in the half. With just over 7 minutes remaining, the Knights had increased their lead to 31 points, 70-39, at which point the same seemed to go into cruise control for both teams. The final score would be 79-55.
Seth Heinicke
(Ivyland, PA / Calvary Christian) finished as the teams second leading scorer with 11 points.
Charles Hopkins (Lansdale, PA / Calvary Baptist) made his first start of the season, logging 28 minutes.
The loss moves PBU to 3-11 overall, 1-8 CSAC. Neumann jumps to 8-8, 5-4 CSAC.
