HARRISONBURG, VA
- The women's volleyball team returned late last night from their grueling 4-game tournament hosted by Eastern Mennonite University over the weekend.

In their first match of the competition, the ladies took on the University of Mary Washington Eagles. The two teams traded the early sets with Mary Washington winning the first 25-20. The ladies of PBU responded in kind, winning the second set also to the tune of 25-20. Again, the two teams traded the next two sets with a 25-17 win for Mary Washington in the third, and a 25-21 win for PBU in the fourth to force a 5th. The Eagles of Mary Washington would prevail in the final stretch 15-9.

There was no rest for the ladies though. They stepped right back on the floor to take on the host, the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University. This time around, the Crimson Eagles were able to take the initiative and bag the first stanza of the contest, 26-24. EMU would take the second set 18-25 only to see their momentum broken when PBU took the third 25-15. Hopes of an early night were dashed though when the ladies of EMU forced a 5th set with a 24-26 win in the fourth. In the end, PBU were able to pull out the victory 15-11 in the final set, scoring the first point and never looking back.

After two draining matches the night before, the Crimson Eagles returned to the floor for their final two games against Stevenson Univ. and Catholic Univ. It was as though all their energy had been spent the night before, as the Lady Crimson Eagles had a tough time of it on the final day, dropping both contest 3-0.

Stevenson University would take all 3 sets by the scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

In the final match-up, the Crimson Eagles dropped all 3 sets 22-25, 9-25, and 10-25 to Catholic University.

Statistics for all the matched are currently unavailable and will be posted as soon as they come in.

The Crimson Eagles finished the weekend tournament 1-3, and now move to 2-3 overall.

PBU will have two days rest and the advantage of playing at home when they host Misericordia on Tuesday, Sept. 6. The match starts at 7pm EST.
