LANGHORNE, PA - The PBU Women's Soccer team had their hands full against the visiting Aggies from Delaware Valley College.
Behind the superb performance of senior Dana Gentile, Delaware Valley ran away as 7-0 winners in the opening game of the 2011 season for both teams. Miranda Scheiler opened the scoring after 15 minutes off a feed from Kara Fecanin.
Then the Dana Gentile show started. 2:49 after the first goal, Gentile tallied her first goal of the game to make it 2-0 to the visitors. She would grab two more goals before halftime to complete her first half hattrick.
The second half brought much of the same, with freshman substitute Maris Rozenblat coming off the bench to turn provider to Gentile's 4th goal of the game, her second assist to Gentile.
In the 80th minute, sophomore Nicole Huff would make the game 6-0. The Aggies weren't done yet. Maris Rozenblat would get her first collegiate goal with just over 5 minutes remaining in the match to make it 7-0.
PBU keeper Alyssa Beltle would record 10 saves in net. Junior midfielder Chelsea Troyer had 2 shots with Amara Mills adding another shot on frame, forcing Aggies keeper Julie Burnell into 2 saves.
The Aggies took 28 shots, an improvement on PBU's part as Delaware Valley recorded 41 in last seasons fixture.
PBU's women return to action on Saturday, Sept. 3 against SUNY-Cobleskill. Cobleskill came out 1-0 winners in a very close game last season.
