Box Score
ASTON, PA - PBU's Men's Soccer team were on the ropes Tuesday afternoon against Neumann University, the reigning Colonial States Athletic Conference champions.
The Crimson Eagles were never able to cope with the onslaught and were unable to get anything going offensively. The immediate pressure from Neumann paid off after only 9 minutes, as Lee Collins put the host side up 1-0. Nathan Beideman and Andrew Leissing would make it 3-0 before the halftime break.
Leissing would add his 2nd tally 2:28 into the second half, making it 4-0.
Despite being under constant pressure, the Crimson Eagles were able to maintain the score line for the next half hour before Andrew Miller would find space at the top of the box to slot home the Knights 5th goal in the 78th minute.
PBU keeper Dave Shaffer did his part to keep the score line respectable, as he came away with 10 saves.
The game had an unusually low number of fouls and no cards to report for a conference match.
After having a tough time of it, PBU will return to the pitch this Saturday, September 24 to take on NCCAA East-Region rivals Lancaster Bible College. The Crimson Eagles got the better of the Chargers last season, winning 1-0 during the regular season and more importantly in the East Region final, which went to penalty kicks.
