LANGHORNE, PA - The softball team dropped back-to-back games Wednesday afternoon in Langhorne as the Crimson Eagles fell to Cabrini College in consecutive games by scores of 14-0 and 10-2.
In the opening contest of the afternoon, the Cavaliers were aided by a magnificent pitching performance from sophomore hurler Marcelle Crist who threw the first no hitter of her career. Crist threw five innings allowing no hits while issuing just one walk in her seventh victory of the season.
Cabrini pounded out 13 runs in the first two stanzas alone and tacked on an additional solo score in the fourth en route to their 10th conference triumph of the year.
In game two, PBU managed a substantially better effort at the plate as the Crimson Eagles logged seven hits during a 10-2 loss.
Tied 2-2 heading into the top of the fourth, Cabrini put up five runs in the frame to break open the game. The Cavaliers capitalized on two Crimson Eagle errors in the stanza en route to their second straight win over their counterpart.
Sara Poole and Kristen Hubler tallied two hits in the losing effort.
The softball team will return to action on Saturday during their final road contest of the season. PBU will play a doubleheader at Rosemont College with game time starting at 1:00 pm.
