LANGHORNE, PA - Neumann University finished what they started this past weekend as the Knights topped PBU 10-1 Tuesday afternoon during a rain soaked affair.
After plowing through the Crimson Eagles by a 16-0 margin this past Saturday, game two of the double-header was postponed due to an untimely rainstorm.
Despite some light showers yet again on Tuesday, the two squads nevertheless squared off for the second time in four days during the make-up contest as PBU's woes at the plate continued.
The Crimson Eagles were only able to connect for three hits during the five inning affair as the host group used an eight run outburst in the opening frame to help create early separation.
PBU produced their only score during the top of the first when a Kim Martin single knocked Sara Poole across home plate. Martin ended up providing two-thirds of PBU's offense in the batter's box, going 2-for-2 on the afternoon. Kirsten Hubler added a single in the losing effort.
The Knights managed just eight hits for the game but were aided by seven free passes to first in their ninth consecutive win of the season.
The Crimson Eagles will get back into action for their second home tilt of the year this Thursday against Centenary College. Game time is 3:00 pm.
