ST. DAVID'S, PA - Eastern University logged 19 runs over two games Wednesday afternoon to glide past visiting PBU as the Eagles won by scores of 9-1 and 10-0.
The Crimson Eagles notched what ended up being their lone run of the day during the top of the first inning. Ahead 1-0, things would quickly go south from there.
After evening the score during the bottom of the stanza, the host group knocked around five scores in the third and three more scores in the fourth to break open a 9-1 edge.
Despite five hits from PBU in the five innings of play, the group failed to manufacture a second run the rest of the way. Kiersten Waltz provided two hits for the Crimson Eagles in the loss.
In the nightcap, the visitors were blanked, 10-0, despite registering six hits on the offensive end. PBU was hampered by giving up 10 walks defensively as Eastern used eight hits to churn out their second greatest offensive production of the season.
Waltz and Sarah Hollenback both finished 2-for-2 in the loss.
The Crimson Eagles will get back into action on Friday during their first CSAC contest of the season. PBU will head to La Plume, PA to take on Keystone College at 3:00 pm.
