PBU Can't Keep Up With Cabrini

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA
- The Crimson Eagles had four players finish in double figures but it wasn't enough as PBU lost to Colonial States Athletic foe Cabrini College, 82-66.

Cabrini College entered the match as the #11 ranked team in the country, according to d3hoops.com. The Cavaliers were led by Cory Lemons, a preseason All-American, who scored his 1,000th career point on the night. Lemons finished the game with 19 points after being held  to a slow start by the Crimson Eagles.

Senior guard Adam Derus (Lancaster, PA / Manheim Township) led the Crimson Eagles with 14 points and 3-for-4 shooting from beyond the 3-point line. Derus was joined in the double digits by fellow teammates Wendell Torres (Erie, PA / East), Claude Chalk (Philadelphia, PA / Philadelphia Regional), and Jeff Bishop (Souderton, PA / Souderton). Torres finished with 13, Chalk 11, and Bishop 10.

PBU didn't help their cause though, shooting only 47% from the free-throw line and giving the Cavaliers 15 points from 15 turnovers. The Crimson Eagles, otherwise, were comparable to the CSAC Preseason favorites in most other statistical categories.

PBU were outrebounded 35-28 on the night, but more importantly gave up 11 offensive rebounds.

Coach Penley was able to count on 8 players to give him 10+ minutes, which will certainly help his cause in the long season. The Crimson Eagles have 9 players averaging more than 10 minutes a game for the season.

Next up, the men's basketball team will face another top CSAC opponent in Gwynedd-Mercy College. The game takes place this Saturday, December 3 at 4pm.

The Crimson Eagles will try and put an end to their current 4-game skid. The Griffins will enter Saturday's game 3-2, 2-1 in CSAC. GMC is coming off of an 87-78 loss to Neumann University.
