SCRANTON, PA - Sophomore striker, Gary Bruce, scored a late goal for the Crimson Eagles but it wasn't enough as Philadelphia Biblical University lost to Keystone College 2-1.
Bruce scored a free-kick directly into the net from about 22 yards out in th 79th minute, bringing PBU within 2-1 but that score line would hold up to the final whistle.
Keystone's freshman forward Viktor Kallas converted a penalty kick in the 31st minute after being brought down in the box. The Giants made it 2-0 early on in the 2nd half when James Bell scored in the 48th minute to give Keystone some room.
PBU would hold the advantage in shots in the second half, 8-5, after being outshot in the first half.
The loss does some damage to the Crimson Eagles playoff hopes, but with still two Colonial States Athletic Conference matches, there's still plenty to play for.
PBU is now 6-8 and 2-5. Keystone jumps to 4-6-1 and 3-2-1.
PBU will host Centenary College on Thursday, October 20, in a crucial late season CSAC match.
