LANGHORNE, PA - The Crimson Eagles played a decent game but were once again unable to find the back of the net.
The Crimson Eagles are going through an injury crisis at the moment, and when you combine that with a small bench, you'll find yourself up against it at times.
With several players not fully fit, but trying to tough it out, PBU braved it for 72 minutes before the visiting Gators from Notre Dame of Maryland scored the go-ahead goal. Ashley Cumberland scored off a feed from Michelle Phillips.
The goal seemed to deflate the Crimson Eagles, who had fought up until that moment and deserved more from their efforts.
In the 81st minute, Notre Dame put the game out of reach with their second goal. Kelsey Kempf scored unassisted.
PBU forced Gators keeper Heather Lancellotti into 6 saves, with 12 total shots.
PBU freshman Sarah Vogel led the Crimson Eagles with 3 shots, 2 on target. Kathleen Meacham and Chelsea Troyer were credited with 2 shots apiece.
PBU now falls to 2-8. 0-5 in conference.
This Tuesday, PBU will play host to Centenary College at 4pm.
