PBU Thumped By Neumann 4-0

LANGHORNE, PA - The PBU women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to visiting Neumann University in CSAC action on Saturday.

The opening five minutes have been a struggle for the Crimson Eagles lately, and unfortunately today was no different.  Neumann's Olivia Pryzbylkowski scored two goals in those early minutes to stake the Knights to a 2-0 lead, while the Knights Maria Tivoli would tack on a third goal in the 10th minute to make it 3-0.

Although the Crimson Eagles dug themselves an early hole, coach Dewey Landon was happy with the resiliency of his team, especially at the offensive end.

"We generated some excellent chances to score, especially in the 2nd half, and probably should have scored a couple of goals," said Landon.

The Crimson Eagles, however, had no answer for Pryzbylkowski, who added to her impressive day by scoring her third goal in the 56th minute.

Coach Landon is encouraged by the fact that some key players are finally getting back on the field after suffering through various injuries, including senior captain Sarah Schenkel, who played 63 minutes in her return to action.

"(Schenkel) provided speed down the wings and put in some quality crosses.  We still had three other midfielders out through injury," said Landon.  "We're hoping to get everyone back sometime next week, hopefully in time for the BBC game."

PBU is now 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the CSAC.

The Crimson Eagles will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, September 28th as they host the aformentioned Baptist Bible College at 4:00 p.m.
