LANGHORNE, PA - The men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Widener University Monday afternoon as the Pride used a late second half goal to snatch their fourth victory of the season.
Coming into the game with an unblemished 7-0-1 all-time record against the Crimson Eagles, Widener maintained their perfect tally against the host group, utilizing 22 shots on PBU's cage for the day to sneak away with a 1-0 victory.
After a scoreless first frame, the Pride finally found the back of the net at the 75th minute mark when Widener junior forward Dan Lorenzet fired a rocket from the left side of the box that struck paydirt.
Unable to piece together a legitimate scoring attack, the Crimson Eagles managed to two shots in the second stanza and failed to make a significant run during the back end of play.
Dave Schaffer collected 12 saves for the afternoon, marking his second straight double digit save outing.
PBU falls to 2-4 on the year while Widener moves to 4-3-1.
The Crimson Eagles will look to bounce back on Wednesday during a road tilt with Delaware Valley College. Game time is 4:00 pm.
