Soccer Team Falls Short Against Marymount

ARLINGTON, VA - The men's soccer team was blanked during their opening contest of the season Thursday evening, falling to Marymount University by a final tally of 3-0.

"It's always nice to get that first game out of the way," said first year head coach Scott Fogarty following his first career game on the sidelines with PBU. "The learning process is accelerated whenever you play a game, and I think we learned alot about ourselves. Obviously we would've preferred a better outcome to the scoreline, but the building blocks are there for a good season."

"Marymount definitely had the better of the possession, but I think that was down to us giving the ball away too easily," Fogart continued. " We defended well, I thought, but when you can't retain possession of the ball, you're always going to have a tough time."

Statistics for Thursday's match are currently unavailable.

The team will look to regroup for their match this Saturday in New York against SUNY Cobleskill. Game time against the Fighting Tigers is 3:00 pm.
