Second Half Proves Costly for Crimson Eagles

Box Score

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -
Following a first half struggle that saw Valley Forge Christian College escape into the break with a 35-31 advantage, things quickly unraveled for the PBU men's basketball team shortly thereafter.

The Crimson Eagles would even things at 44-apiece seven minutes into the second stanza. But a flurry of three's from the host squad would break open the game as the Patriots would end the contest on the positive side of a 45-14 run.

Not helping PBU's cause was 27 turnovers on the night as the group surrendered 34 points to the host squad in points off of turnovers. Valley also pummeled the Crimson Eagles at the charity stripe as the host group made more free throws for the game (23) than PBU attempted for the night (16).

Following a 10 for 29 performance from the field in the opening stanza, the Patriots burned the nets by drilling 61.3 percent of their attempts from the floor during the back end of play. PBU nailed just 43.6 precent of their looks en route to the group's second straight loss.

Willie Miller connected for 20 points in 33 minutes of action and Ben Fuller finished as the only other player in double figures as the senior guard pumped in 10.

The Crimson Eagles will return to the court on Saturday when the group heads up north to take on Marywood University at 3:00 pm.
