RADNOR, PA - After Thursday's squeaker against Valley Forge, one could hardly predict which PBU team would show up against defending CSAC Champion Cabrini on the road Saturday.
In an effort that the box score won't quite capture, Dave Shaffer made sure the Crimson Eagles wouldn't have a repeat performance by making 10 saves in leading PBU to a 0-0 draw.
On the offensive end, playing without injured leading scorer Gary Bruce, PBU played well but couldn't get anything past Cavalier senior goalie Mike Viscariello, who also made 10 saves.
Cabrini ultimately out shot the visitors by a 30-13 count but were only able to put a third of those blasts on target. The Cavaliers also held an 11-3 edge in corners for the day.
The soccer team currently sits with a 5-9-2 record with a 2-4-2 mark in league play.
The Crimson Eagles return to action on Tuesday when they host Neumann University in their last conference game of the year. A win would all but secure PBU's first playoff berth since joining the CSAC.
It won't be easy, though, as the Knights are the conference's top team and remain a perfect 7-0 thus far. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
