PBU Back On Track With 2-0 Win Over Keystone

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA -
The PBU women's soccer team earned their first CSAC win of the season on Saturday, defeating Keystone by a score of 2-0.

The Crimson Eagles were lead by the one-two scoring punch of Kathleen Meacham and Katherine Zell.

It was Zell who scored first in the 35th minute on an assist from Meacham.  The goal was Zell's third of the season and ended a three game scoring drought for the Crimson Eagles.

While the score remained close, the Crimson Eagles dominated play with a 10-1 shots advantage in the 1st half.  Finally, in the 72nd minute, it was Meacham giving PBU some breathing room, scoring her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

The defense was outstanding today for PBU as Keystone was only able to register three shots the entire game, while the offense peppered the Keystone defense with a season high 17 shots.  Goalkeeper Kristen Lyszczasz made two saves to record her 2nd win on the season and her first shutout.

With the win, the Crimson Eagles improve to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in the CSAC.  Keystone drops to 2-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in conference play.

PBU will be back in action on Tuesday, October 5 as they travel to Immaculata University.  Game time is 4:00.
