Box Score

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ -
After going up 2-1midway through the opening stanza, the Crimson Eagles couldn't fend off Centenary College's attack the rest of the way, eventually falling to the Cyclones by a 4-2 margin.

Centenary struck first during the 13th minute of play when forward Matt Winkler slipped the ball into the back of the net to give the host group a 1-0 advantage.

However, PBU showed resiliency by responding five minutes later when Cody Mosely logged his first collegiate goal to even the score. The first year midfielder was in the mix again following another 15 minutes of action, dishing an assist to fellow rookie Gary Bruce at the 30 minute mark to help put the visitors up 2-1.

Unfortunately, any momentum the Crimson Eagles' cherished quickly vanished behind the works of Cyclone midfielder Andrew Pinnella who evened things at two-apiece nearly 30 seconds later.

Centenary - who finished the contest with a 22-7 edge in total shots - kept their constant pressure on PBU's backline throughout the second frame, eventually breaking through two more times to help manage the come from behind victory.

Despite the loss, Bruce continued his recent torrid scoring pace, notching his sixth goal over the team's last four games. Keeper Dave Shaffer provided nine stops in the net.

The Crimson Eagles - who currently sit 2-4-1 in the conference - will most likely need wins in their final two conference games in order to have a shot at making the CSAC postseason. Centenary improves to 3-2 with the triumph.

The soccer team will return to action on Thursday during an NCCAA East Region match-up with Valley Forge Christian College. Game time is 2:00 pm.
