LANGHORNE, PA - The men's basketball was unable to overcome 27 turnovers Monday night as the group dropped a 73-53 decision to Immaculata University at home.
Averaging 22 cough-ups per outing entering Monday's game, the Crimson Eagles once again succumbed to the opposition's pressure as the group gave the ball away 20-plus times for the fifth straight outing.
The Mighty Macs took full advantage of PBU's freebee giveaways, collecting 28 points for the game off of the host squad's miscues.
Following a PBU layup to open up the game, Immaculata would rattle off the next 10 straight points to go up 12-2. The Crimson Eagles would cut the deficit to four with 6:17 remaining in the opening period, but a 19-3 spurt to close out the stanza would put the visitors up 37-20 at the break.
Despite several mini-runs from the host squad, PBU would fail to inch any closer than 49-34 the rest of the way as Immaculata would cruise during the back end of play in what signals their biggest win of the season.
The Mighty Macs pounded the Crimson Eagles on the interior throughout the night, going off for 42 points inside to maintain a 26 point edge in the paint for the game.
The visitors were led by a trio of scorers in double figures, including sophomore Robert Siter's 18 points and six steals defensively. PBU was paced by sophomore Nate Schrader's 18 points and 11 boards, while senior WIllie Miller and sophomore Luke Taylor both chipped in with nine apiece.
The Crimson Eagles slip to 2-8 on the year with the loss while moving to 0-4 within the CSAC.
PBU will get back into action on Thursday when the group travels to Gwynedd-Mercy College for a date with the Griffins at 7:00 pm.
