Arcadia Slips Past Soccer Team

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA
- A pair of scores in each half from visiting Arcadia University was enough to boost the Knights past PBU in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

The visitors got on the board just 20 minutes into play when Knight sophomore forward Anthony Procopio registered just his second score of the year off a feed from Joe Clementi.

Arcadia would go on to control the majority of the flow throughout the remainder of the period and would chart an 11-5 edge in shots by the end of the opening 45 minutes.

Down 1-0, a frantic push early in the second stanza from the Crimson Eagle front line was eventually negated by Arcadia's second score of the afternoon at the 71 minute mark. Senior forward Joe Clemini popped home his third goal in the past two games to deflate PBU's comeback bid while simultaneously handing the Crimson Eagles their third loss in the group's past four outings.

Arcadia would go on to lock up a sizable advantage statistically for the afternoon, boasting a 28-16 edge in shots for the game while maintaining an 8-3 advantage in corners taken.

Crimson Eagle junior Dave Simon, filling in as the starting keeper for the afternoon, came up with 15 big stops throughout the game while allowing just two scores during his first start in goal for the year.

The soccer team slips below .500 with the loss, moving to 3-4-1 overall on the year. Arcadia improves to 5-3-1.

PBU will return to action this Saturday on the road in an East Region showcase against Lancaster Bible College. The Defenders, currently ranked third nationally in the NCCAA, will host a PBU squad tabbed fifth overall at 1:30 pm.
