LANGHORNE, PA - The softball team's push for a postseason berth came to an abrupt end Saturday afternoon as the Crimson Eagles fell in consecutive contests to Immaculata University.

Despite a gem of a game from Betsy Ranck on the mound in the opening series, the Crimson Eagles were unable to provide any run support during a 2-0 loss. PBU knocked around seven hits for the game but stranded seven runners as well in what ended up being a defensive clash.

The Crimson Eagles managed to capitalize on their opportunities in the second outing, charting five scores on just seven hits. But the Mighty Macs also came alive offensively, pounding out 17 dings for the contest while piling on 13 runs during a 13-5 triumph.

Kim Martin posted three hits for PBU on the afternoon while Betsy Ranck and Jackie Morrow both added two.

The softball team completes the 2009 season with an overall record of 13-19.
