Dual Late Game Flounders Prove Costly

Clermont, FL - Late game collapses can be tough to swallow. But two in one day? That can be devastating.

Thankfully it's still early in the year, with many games left to be played. But unfortunately the Crimson Eagles were unable to avoid the aforementioned scenario Wednesday, falling victim to consecutive late game meltdowns.

Up 7-3 in the bottom of the seventh against Medaille College, the Crimson Eagles couldn't fend off a ferocious late game rally from the Mavericks as Medaille notched the score at seven-apiece to send the contest into extra innings. The Mavericks ended up pulling out a 10-9 victory in the bottom of the ninth.

Game two didn't fair much better. Leading 4-2 over Morrisville State College in the sixth, the Crimson Eagles surrendered three scores in the bottom of the inning as the final count would wind up 5-4 in the Mustang's favor.

The softball team slips to 1-5 with the back-to-back losses.

Statistics from the week are currently unavailable.

PBU will return to the field to host their first home contest of the season on Friday. The Crimson Eagles will take on the College of Notre Dame in a double header beginning at 1:00 pm.
